This "Behind the panels" blog shows a panel with a conductivity, pH and free chlorine sensor with automatic brush system for industrial water.
The Pyxis ST-765 Oxidizer sensor provides a unique non-membrame oxidizer measuring principle. Possible to measure Free Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, Sulfite, Bromine and Monochloramine with pH.
This sensor eliminates all the problems that membrame sensors provide. No more changing of fragile membrame caps/ electrolyte.
When this sensor is used on industrial and cooling water applications, the automatic brush system is needed to keep the sensor head clean. Important points for this sensor are the correct and stable flow rate and making sure that the sensor is powered OFF when there is no flow.
Advantage Europe has panels for each type of application. In this case, the application had a stable flow rate of industrial water. This panel has a diaphragm valve with a rotameter to easily regulate the flow rate. A low flow switch provides a signal to the MegaTron XS controller. The controller powers both the sensor and the brush. In case of no flow, the controller will shut down the power of the sensor and the brush after a set time to maximize the lifetime of the sensor.
This system offers a great Economical / Low Maintenance / Long Lifetime solution for oxidizer measurement.
