Dosing pumps, also known as metering pumps, are precision devices designed to deliver exact volumes of fluid over a specified period of time. These pumps are widely used across various industries, such as water treatment, chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and agriculture, where accurate and controlled dosing of liquids is essential.
Dosing pumps are typically employed for the addition of chemicals, reagents, or other substances into a process or system, ensuring precise control and consistency. They are capable of handling a wide range of liquids, from thin, non-viscous substances to highly viscous or corrosive chemicals, making them a versatile solution for various industrial applications.
With features like adjustable flow rates, compatibility with automation systems, and the ability to withstand harsh environments, dosing pumps contribute significantly to improving efficiency, safety, and accuracy in fluid handling processes. Their reliability and adaptability make them indispensable tools in modern industry.
Advantage Europe has a complete range of dosing pumps. We are able to provide you the correct pump for your application, give you all the needed information and support you with the maintenance.
So, which dosing pump fits your application?
Diaphragm Dosing Pumps
The most known dosing pump, is the membrane dosing pump. A flexible diaphragm moves forward and back in a pump chamber. One-way (from suction to discharge) valves in the suction side and in the discharge side, assure that every time the diaphragm moves back, the pump chamber is filled with liquid and every time the diaphragm moves forward, the liquid in the pump chamber is pushed in the discharge line:
Diaphragm dosing pumps are with the most used dosing pumps, due to there small footprint, economical design, long lifetime and suction capabilities. However, there are some disadvantages. In case that the liquid is viscous, contains particles, the application has a high pressure/high flow rate, or a pulsating flow is not acceptable, the diaphragm dosing pump is not the good solution.
Advantage Europe has 3 different types of diaphragm dosing pumps.
MicroLinx Series:
A very good cost/technical solenoid dosing pump for small flow rates till 7l/h. Available in a simple ON/OFF version, or with external controls like pulses, analog signal or dry input.
SmartLinx Series:
This dosing pump uses a stepper motor instead of an electromagnet like the solenoid pumps. The stepper motor can variate the diaphragm speed. This means that the pump has a turndown ratio of 1:3000 providing an accurate flow rate. Also all external controls are available. This pump is available till 60 l/h and is used in more critical applications, or applications in which a very low accurate flow rate is required.
Motor driven dosing pumps:
The higher flow rates require higher powered drives. These dosing pumps are motor driven. An electromotor drives the diaphragm through a worm gear drive to reach flow rates till 2000 l/h.
Peristaltic metering pumps
The peristaltic dosing pumps offer great advantages. Great suction capabilities, possible to pump viscous liquids, possible to pump liquids containing particles and a less pulsating flow rate. The main disadvantages are the limited pressure/temperature possibilities that are in relation with the lifetime of the hose. However, this lifetime is predictable and replacing it is easy. So with a good maintenance management, some customers do find this as an advantage. Advantage Europe has the best solution in Europe with the US based Blue-White peristaltic metering pumps. These pumps have all the possible external controls with a fantastic user-friendly interface. With flow rates till 2000 l/h, this pump provides a reliable dosing transfer in many applications.
Precision gear and micro-gear metering pumps
Our precision gear pumps are the best solution for pulsation free, high linearity, high pressure differential, zero leakage metering applications. These pumps are able to transfer high viscous liquids. Thanks to a magnetic coupling, there are no rotating seals that can leak. Operation can be through simple ON/OFF designed motors, or through an external signal with special stepper motors. Note that the gear pumps are available in SS316L and Hastelloy C276. The liquid will need to be compatible with these metals. These pumps can go up to flow rates of 4000 l/h and are widely used for: Deionized water, methanol, urea solution, kerosene, additives, lubricating oil, lye, ammonia solution, cobalt solution, dialysate, ethylene glycol, freon, ink, glycerin, phenolic resin, curing agent, essence Fragrance, fluorinated liquid pumping system.
